We're delighted to announce the release of our book: Emotion Coaching With Children And Young People In Schools - Promoting Positive Behaviour, Wellbeing and Resilience.
This book summarises the work and training we've been engaged in for the past ten years.
It explores the 'what', 'why', and 'how' of Emotion Coaching, and as Dr Margot Sunderland writes: "It's a fabulous read that just flows off the page!"
In the foreword, John Gottman points out that children and young people yearn for a meaningful connection with adults - and as this book shows, they also benefit enormously when this connection is made.
"Kids who are emotion coached learn that their emotions are their GPS in life." - John Gottman, Ph.D.
This book is co-authored by Emotion Coaching UK's founders, Dr Louise Gilbert, Licette Gus, and Dr Janet Rose. As well as covering why we need Emotion Coaching, the book also provides guidance on how to use Emotion Coaching effectively.
There is a chapter on 'Applying Emotion Coaching To Your Everyday Practice' and one that provides 'Supporting Strategies'.
Emotion Coaching With Children and Young People In Schools explores in depth each of the four steps of Emotion Coaching identified by our research. Throughout the book, its use is illustrated by a range of case studies which exemplify some of the intricacies and complexities of each of the steps.
It is a perfect companion text to our training courses, and is a practical guide with an accessible tool and framework for helping children and young people to regulate their feelings and behaviour.
We will be hosting a virtual book launch mid September. Stay tuned for details!

Exciting to see the release of the Emotion Coaching book! It’s a valuable resource for fostering connections and promoting wellbeing in schools. Check out more about it on the launch site.

This book sounds like a fantastic resource! I'm always looking for ways to better understand and manage emotions, especially with all the AI tools popping up lately. Speaking of AI, if you're ever looking to generate some cool anime art, you should check out the Anime iamge Generator.

The fundamental goal of the game Eggy Car is to keep the egg balanced while you drive down an unending road filled with hills, bumps, and slopes. If the automobile accelerates too quickly, the egg will bounce and slide off. If the vehicle travels too slowly, it may not have the power to climb the steep slopes.
