Emotion Coaching in relation to: triune brain, polyvagal theory & hand brain model

Over the years we have become aware that there has been some confusion as to how and why Emotion Coaching UK (ECUK) utilises Stephen Porges' polyvagal theory and Dan Siegel's hand model of the brain. Dr, Louise Gilbert has researched and written a critical paper on current understanding of the triune brain, polyvagal theory and the hand model of the brain. Dr. Gilbert also clearly sets out how these concepts relate to Emotion Coaching as part of the ECUK framework. You can find the paper on the Resources>Research page of the website or via this download.

One of the best things about Basket Random is that every point changes the game. Different courts, characters, and ball physics keep the experience fresh and unpredictable.

I find discussions around Emotion Coaching and neuroscience really interesting, especially when they clarify how ideas like polyvagal theory and the hand model of the brain are actually being applied in practice. It’s helpful when frameworks explain emotional regulation in a clearer, more grounded way. Learning systems and emotional responses like this even remind me a bit of Eaglercraft, the browser-based Minecraft-inspired game, where cooperation, communication, and community interactions can strongly affect the overall experience.

In Space Waves, even small errors can cost you the entire run. That’s what makes it both frustrating and addictive at the same time.
